Hi everyone, I am originally from the Czech Republic but proud to be calling New Zealand home for many years now. My interest in herbs and alternative remedies have been there since my childhood due to being that 'sensitive child' that reacted to almost anything that wasn't natural and generally responding much better to natural over medical and/or chemical.
After rather few years in the interesting but not so personally satisfying business corporate world it was time to follow my true calling to become a fully qualified naturopath, nutritionist, medical herbalist and a healer. During my studies I was very lucky to be guided by experienced mentors and run my part time massage therapy and a student clinic from home. In the final year of my study to join the Apothecary team in Christchurch where I ended up working and gaining lots of experience for almost six years both in the clinic and the dispensary and to help run and present talks and workshops for the public. Living in North Canterbury and seeing clients from there made me realise the need to open up a clinic in the area and so I did in Kaiapoi in June 2021. I have been also doing talks and helping run workshops on various health related topics for public and organizations.
Since 2023, on top of my clinical work, I have been lecturing and mentoring students and new practitioners at the School of Clinical Naturopathy in Prague, Czech Republic and also running online webinars.
Since my student years I have been a member of the New Zealand Association of Medical Herbalists and later on of the Naturopaths and Medical Herbalists of NZ (current Professional Member) that is also part of Allied Health Aotearoa NZ. Up to the end of 2024 I have served on the Executive Board as the association’s Secretary and was a member of the Educational and Political Subcommittee as well as a Regional Coordinator and mentor of new graduates and practitioners (this is on going).
With ten years of broad range clinical experience I can help you and your loved ones with various areas of your health ranging from simple ailments to those stubborn, chronic, complex disorders but there are certain areas that I have strong affinity for more than others – children, chronic, complex, stubborn disorders and mostly mental health and complex trauma in particular (see below).
My approach is fully holistic which means looking not just at your symptoms but what is actually behind those and how everything else is connected. Lifestyle, diet, stress levels and much more gets discussed during our appointments. As we go I explain my findings to you and what can we do about those. Then we come up with a treatment plan that suits your budget and that is compatible with your lifestyle hence manageable by you.
Naturopathic approach is great for acute and chronic issues and also as a preventative tool. We have an amazing ability to heal with the right attitude, approach and support and there is always something we can do even if it's just changing your dietary habits and giving you the right nutrients.
Apart from practicing what I am preaching to my clients I love the outdoors and being lost in nature, dancing, being with like minded inspirational people, yoga and meditation, good movies and books if time allows :).
Trauma Healing
"Our wounds are often the openings into the best and most beautiful part of us.”
My biggest passion is helping with complex trauma (both CPTSD and PTSD), mental health, nervous system disorders and whatever is presenting in the body and mind as a result of that. Whether is it chronic stress, CFS, burnout, sleep issues, addictions, anxiety, depression, ADD, ADHD, ASDs, chronic health issues, autoimmune disorders, digestive issues etc. I have also extensive experience to work with your primary health care provider to wean you off your medications and/or give you alternatives or help with side effects. As a complex trauma survivor myself I know what it’s like and how challenging it can be. Overcoming it requires a multilayered approach and constant work. Trauma survivors are wired differently (both physically and mentally) and they require a unique approach in order to heal as it is a life long journey for them. I love undertaking research and further training and education in this area too so I can help my clients even more.
